My Mom and I went to Chicago to see my brother Dan at the end of September. This was my first time in Chicago! What an eye opening experience. I definitely prefer the country with lots of open fields.
We bought some reading benches/storage solutions for toys for the kids bedrooms! I bought them at benches.com.
We are going to build our shed in stages. This year we started with the dirt and sand foundation. Hopefully in the spring, we will do concrete. 30X40 shed.
We have come to realize that Noel is allergic to mosquito bites, so now I need to keep Benadryl in stock at all times. This time her eye was super swollen. Now I know why she is so scared of flies and bugs!
We put new carpet in the kids bedrooms. The hardwood floors were too hard to try to play toys on. Now they can play in their bedrooms more. Eventually we will remove this carpet to enjoy the hardwood floors again.
We bought a new big girl bed for Noel on Craigslist. Grandma Debbie made the quilt for her! Thank you Mom! Notice that Noel is wearing Noah's slippers. Just another day in the Hille Household.
Yay! I love family photos especially in our backyard! My favorite photo for 2013!
Noah loves my knee walker. If we would let him, he would play on this for hours.
My right bunion surgery went very well! This boot is very heavy. I am now 2 weeks post surgery and I have been walking on it for a few days already. I still use my knee walker a lot.
Carving pumpkins was fun this year with the kids!
Happy Halloween! Noah was a KoneCranes Inspector (Mike's work uniform). Noel was Minnie Mouse! Too bad it rained throughout trick or treating in Bonduel.
The kids loved jumping in the leaf pile in our backyard! Love Autumn!
Noah writing his list to Santa. He did a great job for 4 years old with his writing! Don't let this photo fool you, he really is right handed. Interesting note though, he eats his cereal with his left hand.
Mike is getting excited for snow because he bought a snowmobile. This is the first snowmobile he has had since like 1998. Bringing back winter tradition especially since the mountain bay trail behind our house allows snowmobiles on it!
Since I live on the couch now because of my foot surgery, I watch a lot of HGTV and Food Network! I bought all of the Pioneer Woman's cook books! Yum! I just made meal planning much more fun each week!
Side Note: I made peanut butter balls this weekend! I never can wait till the holiday season to make them. I also made homemade onion rings last night to go with our French Dip Sandwiches. I have to say that was a lot of work! The Pioneer Woman makes it look so easy on TV.
My on-line Christmas shopping has been going very well. I think I am about 90% done! I am also 80% done with my 3 scrapbooks for the year and I started my 2013 year highlights DVD! So even though I live on the couch, I have been super busy!
Yesterday around 2 pm we saw an 8 point buck chasing a doe right in our backyard on our golf cart path! The rut is on! Mike has a deer camera in the backyard too and got a picture of the 8 pointer! Check it out! Cool.
Enjoy the Holidays coming up with your family and friends! Thanksgiving is 2 and a half weeks away!
